Almería Fans Snap Up Away Tickets to Málaga Derby in Just 10 Minutes
The 400 tickets allocated to Almería supporters for the upcoming Andalusian derby at La Rosaleda sold out almost instantly, with many fans left disappointed.
Almería Supporters Show Their Colours for Andalusian Derby
Talk about being quick off the mark! Almería fans have once again shown their incredible loyalty by gobbling up all 400 away tickets for Sunday’s Andalusian derby against Málaga at La Rosaleda in a mere 10 minutes.
The club put tickets on sale at approximately 12:40 this morning, exclusively available to season ticket holders. By 12:50, the club’s social media accounts were already announcing that every last ticket had been snapped up. Many disappointed supporters claim the actual selling window was even shorter than the official ten minutes - gone in a proper flash.
Why the massive demand?
- Form: Rubi’s men are enjoying a cracking season in Segunda División
- Location: The relatively short distance between the two Andalusian cities makes this an appealing away day
- Timing: The Sunday 14:00 kick-off time is perfect for a day trip to the Costa del Sol
More than meets the eye
While Málaga provided the standard allocation of around 400 tickets to the visiting supporters, the actual Almería contingent at La Rosaleda is expected to be even larger. Many supporters unable to secure official away section tickets have reportedly purchased seats in adjacent sections through Málaga’s website.
All told, we could see upwards of 500 Almería supporters making the journey - not a bad turnout for an away end in the second tier! It’s becoming something of a tradition for the Indálicos to travel in numbers for these Andalusian derbies.
For Almería, it’s the perfect way to close out the year - on the road but with a proper army of supporters behind them. The atmosphere promises to be electric as these two sides battle it out in one of Segunda División’s most anticipated fixtures this weekend.
With tickets disappearing faster than money at Christmas, it’s clear this derby means a lot to both sets of supporters. Sunday can’t come soon enough for those lucky enough to have secured their spot.
