57 Ultras Nicked in Massive Granada-Cádiz Pre-Match Bust-up

Police have arrested dozens of ultras from five different Spanish clubs after a violent confrontation before October's Granada vs Cádiz match in LaLiga Hypermotion.

Spanish police have arrested 57 ultras following a chaotic street brawl that erupted before Granada’s home fixture against Cádiz on October 25th in Spain’s second division.

Five Clubs Involved in Shocking Violence

What’s absolutely mental about this incident is the sheer number of different club factions involved. While you’d expect a bit of needle between two rival sets of supporters, this turned into a proper royal rumble with ultras from five different clubs getting stuck in:

  • 28 arrests from Cádiz
  • 16 from Granada
  • 7 from Málaga
  • 4 from Burgos
  • 2 from Cartagena

According to police reports, members of Granada’s ‘Curva Sur’ ultras, backed up by Málaga’s ‘Frente Bokerón’ radicals, were waiting at a bar near the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium for the arrival of their rivals.

When Cádiz’s notorious ‘Brigadas Amarillas’ showed up, all hell broke loose. The groups went at it hammer and tongs, with bottles, heavy objects, and even street furniture being used as weapons.

Weapons Seized

The boys in blue managed to confiscate quite an arsenal after breaking up the scrap, including:

  • Knuckledusters
  • Various clubs and sticks
  • A double-ring weapon
  • A knife
  • PVC pipes
  • A ‘Big Craze Balle’ pyrotechnic device

Ongoing Investigation

The police operation has been extensive, spanning multiple cities across Spain to round up all the suspects. The investigation remains active, with authorities warning that additional arrests may follow as they continue to identify participants from the October incident.

This represents one of the largest coordinated crackdowns on football violence in Spain’s second tier in recent memory, highlighting growing concerns about the coordination between ultra groups from different clubs.
