Sevilla eyeing up Man City's Oscar Bobb as January loan target
The Andalusian side are tracking Norwegian winger Oscar Bobb, with Premier League clubs and Borussia Dortmund also keen on the Manchester City youngster.
Sevilla are keeping tabs on Manchester City’s Norwegian wonderkid Oscar Bobb as they look to bolster their attacking options in the January window.
Financial balancing act
The Andalusian outfit find themselves in a bit of a pickle financially. They need to generate around €10 million in player sales before they can splash any cash on new signings. What’s more, they’ve got some deadwood to shift first – players like Álvaro Ferllo, Ramón Martínez and Federico Gattoni who’ve barely had a sniff this season.
But that hasn’t stopped the transfer rumour mill from turning, with Oscar Bobb emerging as a potential target according to talkSPORT.
Premier League competition
Sevilla aren’t the only ones with their eyes on the 22-year-old left-footed winger who typically operates from the right. Crystal Palace and Fulham are both keeping close tabs on the situation, while German outlet Bild reports Borussia Dortmund are also interested in a potential loan with an option to buy.
Bobb started the season brightly under Pep Guardiola but has seen his playing time dwindle in recent weeks. With the World Cup on the horizon, the Norway international is reportedly keen to find regular minutes elsewhere.
However, City would only sanction a move if they can bring in Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth – a player who’s attracting interest from several Premier League sides.
Talent waiting to explode
Since making his first-team debut in September 2023, Bobb has made 47 appearances for City. His development hit a roadblock last season after suffering a leg fracture that kept him sidelined for much of the 2024-25 campaign.
This season, he’s started nine matches, providing one assist in the opening league fixture against Wolves. But competition for places is absolutely brutal at the Etihad, with the likes of:
- Rayan Cherki
- Phil Foden
- Savinho
- Bernardo Silva
all fighting for similar positions.
Would he fit at Sevilla?
Valued at around €25 million by Transfermarkt, Bobb needs consistent game time to continue his development, and La Liga could be the perfect stage for him to showcase his skills.
That said, Sevilla’s priority in January is securing a striker, meaning any move for Bobb would likely depend on outgoings – particularly if Rubén Vargas heads for the exit door.
Seems like the perfect chance for the young Norwegian to get some proper minutes under his belt rather than warming the bench at City. Could be a right Bobby Dazzler of a signing if they pull it off.
