Serie A Transfer Window: Chiesa, Sorloth and Lookman on the Move?

January 2026 sees the Italian transfer market heating up with Juventus eyeing Premier League talent and Inter targeting Atalanta's Lookman among a flurry of potential moves.

The winter transfer window is upon us and Serie A clubs are already busy sorting their squads for the business end of the season. Plenty of wheeling and dealing on the cards as the Italians look to strengthen before the window slams shut.

Top Clubs Making Moves

Napoli, last season’s champions, have their eyes on Sevilla’s Juanlu as they look to bolster their squad for another title defence. Meanwhile, Inter Milan are showing serious interest in Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman - the Nigerian international who’s been absolute mustard since arriving in Italy.

Juventus seem to be on a Premier League shopping spree with Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa potentially heading back to Italy after his Anfield move didn’t quite work out. The Old Lady are also monitoring Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi and, interestingly, Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth.

The Giallorossi have a proper shopping list going:

  • Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United)
  • Giacomo Raspadori (Atlético Madrid)
  • Morten Frendrup (Genoa)

They’ve already sent young Filippo Reale out on loan to Avellino after he returned from Juve Stabia. Classic Italian loan army business, that.

Mid-table Manoeuvres

Fiorentina have been busy early doors, bringing in Manor Solomon on loan from Tottenham while shipping out three youngsters. The Viola are also keen on Atalanta duo Marco Brescianini and Lazar Samardzic.

Lazio have secured Petar Ratkov from RB Salzburg but lost Taty Castellanos to West Ham. They’re now hunting Ajax’s Kenneth Taylor and, interestingly, are also after Samardzic - setting up a potential Florence-Rome battle for the Atalanta man.

Milan have sorted themselves a proper centre-forward with Niklas Füllkrug joining on loan from West Ham, while Divock Origi has finally been released on a free after his nightmare spell at the San Siro.

Surprise Package Como

Como, one of the surprise packages this season, have seen Simone Verdi leave for FC Südtirol while they’re reportedly interested in Brazilian talent Kaiki from Cruzeiro. Not bad for a club that was in Serie B not long ago!

Veterans and Free Agents

Parma are showing interest in free agent Lorenzo Insigne, who could make a return to Italian football after his MLS adventure.

Hellas Verona have picked up Isaac on a free from Atlético Mineiro, while newly-promoted Pisa have secured Rafiu Durosinmi from Viktoria Plzen.

With plenty of time left in the window, expect more movement as clubs look to sort their squads for the crucial second half of the season. Italian football and its transfer dealings - proper game of chess, innit?
