The Second Division's Iron Men: LaLiga Hypermotion's Minute Machines

Fifteen players have clocked every single minute of LaLiga Hypermotion action this season - but who are these marathon men of Spanish second-tier football?

As we approach the halfway mark of the LaLiga Hypermotion season, a select group of players have shown remarkable durability by playing every single minute of the campaign so far - all 1,710 minutes across 19 matchdays. These proper grafters haven’t missed a single second of the action.

Goalkeepers dominate the durability charts

It’s no surprise that goalkeepers make up the bulk of our iron men list - eleven of the fifteen players who’ve played every minute are between the sticks. Among the standouts:

  • Alfonso Herrero (Málaga) and Andrés Fernández (Almería) lead not just in minutes but also in saves, with 68 successful stops each
  • Jonmi Magunagoitia and Juan Soriano have been ever-present despite their teams spending Christmas in the relegation zone
  • Several Zamora Trophy contenders feature, including Ander Cantero, Víctor Aznar, Germán Parreño and Rubén Yáñez
  • Dani Jiménez, Guilherme and Edgar Badía round out the goalkeeper contingent

The outfield iron men

Only four outfield players have managed to play every minute this season - a proper achievement given the physical demands of the division:

  • Only two clubs have multiple players on the list - Deportivo La Coruña and Burgos, thanks to Loureiro and Grego Sierra
  • Grego Sierra (Burgos) stands out as the only player on the list with multiple goals, having netted against both Granada and Cádiz
  • Jeremy Mellot is the only non-centre-back outfield player to feature, with the Castellón full-back continuing his reputation as a minutes machine after nearly reaching 3,500 minutes with Tenerife last season

The veteran newcomer

Carlos Hernández completes our list of marathon men. The experienced centre-back from Jaén has been a regular fixture in Segunda División over the years, but his move to Ceuta has provided crucial experience to the club in their return to the second tier after more than 60 years away.

As we head into the New Year, these fifteen players will surely be hoping to maintain their 100% appearance records through to the end of what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. Let’s see who can go the distance in this marathon season!
