Huesca snap up Nigerian winger Aghama on loan as Pulido saga rumbles on

SD Huesca have made their first winter signing, bringing in Efe Aghama on loan from Cádiz, while captain Jorge Pulido's future remains uncertain amid Almería interest.

Huesca waste no time strengthening their squad for the second half of the season, securing their first January arrival while captain Jorge Pulido’s future hangs in the balance.

Nigerian winger joins on loan

The Aragonese club have moved quickly to bolster their attacking options, officially announcing the loan signing of Efe Aghama from Cádiz until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Nigerian winger has already joined up with his new teammates and could make his debut as soon as Monday against Córdoba.

Aghama, who started the season with Ceuta before being transferred to Cádiz, brings pace and trickery to the Huesca flanks. The left-sided attacker will be hoping for more regular playing time at El Alcoraz than he managed with the Andalusian outfit.

This appears to be just the beginning of Huesca’s transfer activity, with sporting director Ángel Martín González reportedly working to bring in “two or three more new faces” before the January window slams shut.

Pulido’s future up in the air

Meanwhile, captain Jorge Pulido’s situation remains complicated. The experienced centre-back has reportedly already agreed terms with Almería for next season, but the Segunda División leaders are pushing to bring him in immediately.

Pulido missed part of training this morning with what the club described as a fever, adding another layer of intrigue to the developing transfer saga.

Huesca aren’t making it easy for their rivals, demanding a substantial fee to part with their skipper mid-season. The ball is now in Almería’s court, but neither club seems keen on dragging negotiations out, with a resolution expected sooner rather than later.

For now, the captain remains at the Aragonese club, but this one looks like it could go right down to the dog and bone. Watch this space.
