Khabib goes in two-footed on Real Madrid players after Xabi Alonso sacking

UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov slams Real Madrid players as 'spoiled kids' while defending Xabi Alonso following his shock dismissal as manager.

UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has gone absolutely ballistic on Instagram, launching a scathing attack on Real Madrid players following Xabi Alonso’s shock dismissal after the Supercopa de España final defeat to Barcelona.

Eagle-eyed Madrid fan fuming

The undefeated MMA icon, known to be a massive Real Madrid supporter, didn’t mince his words when addressing the situation. Khabib has attended several Madrid matches over the years and was even spotted on the pitch after the 2025 Champions League final between Inter Milan and PSG, where he playfully told Luis Enrique “1,2,3… Hala Madrid”.

But there’s nothing playful about his reaction to Alonso’s sacking. The Dagestani fighter has come out swinging in defense of the former Liverpool midfielder, making it crystal clear where his loyalties lie in this messy situation.

‘Spoiled kids’ in the firing line

Khabib’s Instagram stories were absolutely scorching, with the fighter suggesting Madrid should be binning players rather than their gaffer:

  • He described Xabi as “one of the three best coaches in the world”
  • Claimed “no coach can handle this lineup at Real Madrid”
  • Called for the club to “get rid of capricious players”
  • Later added: “A year ago they were begging him, and now they fire him because of spoiled kids”

Coach’s corner

What’s particularly interesting is how Khabib approached this from a coach’s perspective. Now a trainer himself, he emphasized the importance of authority in any sporting environment: “Whether in the gym or on the field… the head coach is in charge.”

The fighter’s passion for football is well-documented - he’s previously admitted his dream was actually to be a footballer before becoming one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. He even recently played padel with Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta, cheekily telling him “Hala Madrid” during their match.

With Khabib’s reputation as someone who doesn’t take any nonsense, Madrid’s dressing room might be feeling a bit nervous. It’s not exactly the kind of bloke you want coming down to have a “friendly chat” about team loyalty, is it?
