Valladolid secure Dutch striker Noah Ohio on loan deal with purchase option

Real Valladolid have bolstered their attacking options with the loan signing of Noah Ohio from Utrecht FC, with a purchase option exceeding €2 million.

Valladolid have moved to strengthen their forward line with the acquisition of promising Dutch striker Noah Ohio from Utrecht FC’s reserve team.

Loan with an option

The 21-year-old frontman (born January 16, 2003, in Almere, Netherlands) joins Pucela on a loan deal running until the season’s end. Interestingly, Valladolid have negotiated a purchase option that exceeds €2 million should they wish to make the move permanent.

Ohio has already arrived in Valladolid and is scheduled to complete his medical examinations today. If all goes according to plan, he could be available for selection by manager Luis García Tevenet as early as Tuesday.

Player profile

What are Valladolid getting? Ohio is a proper centre-forward with several notable attributes:

  • Clinical finishing ability
  • Powerful shot
  • Intelligent movement off the ball
  • Good hold-up play with his back to goal

International pedigree

One fascinating aspect of Ohio’s background is his dual nationality status. This has allowed him to represent both England and the Netherlands at youth international level, giving him a diverse football education that could serve him well in Spanish football.

For Valladolid, currently pushing for promotion back to La Liga, this signing represents a shrewd bit of business. They’ve secured a young striker with significant potential without immediate financial commitment, while retaining the option to make it permanent if he proves his worth in Segunda División.

The youngster will be hoping to hit the ground running and show why he’s been on the radar of multiple countries at international level. If he can translate his promising attributes into consistent performances, Valladolid might have found themselves a diamond in the rough.
