Cultural Leonesa snap up Villarreal's Victor Moreno in shrewd loan deal

Cultural Leonesa have bolstered their attacking options with the loan signing of promising Villarreal B star Victor Moreno until the end of the season, with no purchase option included in the deal.

The 20-year-old winger has been absolutely mustard for Villarreal’s B team this season, establishing himself as one of the division’s most eye-catching talents. The numbers don’t lie – three goals and eight assists in the first half of the campaign, making him the top assist provider in Primera Federación. Proper bread and butter stuff from the youngster.
Moreno’s arrival comes at a crucial time for Cultural, who’ve been left short in the wide areas following Pibe’s departure and the increasingly likely exit of Mboula. The versatile attacker can operate effectively on either flank, giving manager José Ángel Ziganda some much-needed options going forward.
Pedigree and potential
Despite his tender age, Moreno isn’t exactly wet behind the ears when it comes to professional football. The lad cut his teeth in Granada’s youth setup before joining Villarreal’s renowned academy system, where he’s continued his development at a fair old pace.
He’s already tasted second-tier football, having made his Segunda División debut at just 18 years of age. Add to that his experience representing Spain at youth international level, and you’ve got yourself a player with serious potential.
The challenge ahead
Moreno now faces the task of translating his impressive Primera Federación form to the more demanding environment of Segunda División. He’ll be immediately available for selection under Ziganda’s guidance and looks set to be quickly integrated into the first-team setup.
