When you’ve got a team as talented as this Madrid side, these chances to create something truly memorable don’t come along every week. The performance for 70-odd minutes was absolutely top drawer - creative, clinical and commanding.
The way Vinicius, Bellingham and company were linking up had Monaco absolutely bamboozled. The visitors looked like they’d rather be anywhere else than facing this white storm.
For Madrid fans, there’ll be mixed emotions. Pride at the five-star performance for most of the match, but a nagging feeling that this could’ve been one for the record books. Instead, it’ll go down as just another comfortable win rather than the absolute demolition job it threatened to become.
