Bazdar's Polish exit paves way for Agada as Zaragoza's first winter signing
Real Zaragoza offload struggling Bosnian striker to Jagiellonia Bialystock on loan while lining up free agent Nigerian forward Willy Agada as his replacement.
The Samed Bazdar saga finally reaches its conclusion as the Bosnian striker heads for the exit door at Real Zaragoza, with Nigerian forward Willy Agada set to replace him.
Bazdar’s Polish Adventure
The curtain’s coming down on Bazdar’s disappointing Spanish chapter, with the striker skipping training this morning as his loan move to Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystock nears completion. The deal includes an option to buy for a tidy €2 million, which would allow Zaragoza to recoup some of their initial €3 million investment.
The Bosnian forward will join former Zaragoza player Bernardo Vital at the Polish club, hoping to resurrect a career that’s gone a bit Pete Tong in Spain. Despite showing flashes of quality, Bazdar never truly convinced manager Rubén Sellés, finding himself increasingly frozen out of the first-team picture.
Agada Coming In
With Bazdar’s wages off the books, Zaragoza can now crack on with their transfer business. Nigerian striker Willy Agada tops their shopping list and looks set to become their first winter reinforcement.
The 26-year-old has been a free agent since January 1st following the expiration of his contract with MLS side Real Salt Lake. His American adventure also included a spell at Kansas City, while he previously plied his trade in Israel before crossing the pond.
Agada’s MLS numbers make for interesting reading:
- 26 goals in 83 appearances overall
- Just 2 goals in 28 matches last season (bit of a mare, that)
What makes him an attractive proposition for Zaragoza is his versatility - capable of playing as a lone striker, second forward, or even out wide when needed. The club has reportedly had him on their radar for weeks, and his arrival could be confirmed imminently.
More Incomings?
Zaragoza’s transfer activity doesn’t appear to be stopping with Agada. Atlético Madrid B defender Aleksa Puric is another target seemingly close to joining the Segunda División outfit as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
