Mallorca eyeing Bologna's Benja Domínguez as winter window heats up
RCD Mallorca have identified Argentine winger Benja Domínguez as a potential January target, with the Bologna man keen on a move to secure more playing time.
The Balearic club continues their hunt for attacking reinforcements, with Bologna’s Argentine winger Benja Domínguez emerging as a prime target for the winter transfer window.
Mallorca’s January Plans
After already securing young talent Justin Kalumba (21) from French side Angers for a modest fee, Mallorca’s sporting department under Pablo Ortells is now focused on bringing in another winger - but this time one ready for immediate impact.
Domínguez has reportedly shown interest in making the switch to the island for the second half of the domestic campaign. The Adam’s apple is that the 22-year-old is desperate for more playing time after finding himself on the fringes at Bologna this season.
Current Situation
The La Plata-born talent has struggled for minutes in Italy this term:
- Just 410 minutes across four competitions (Serie A, Europa League, Italian Super Cup, Coppa Italia)
- Appeared in only 12 matches in the 2025/26 campaign
- Contributed two assists despite limited opportunities
However, according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, Bologna aren’t currently keen on letting their Argentine winger depart - which could complicate Mallorca’s pursuit.
Previous Form
Last season painted a completely different picture for Domínguez:
- Over 1,400 minutes in his first European campaign (2024/25)
- Featured in 28 matches across Serie A and Coppa Italia
- Netted four goals and provided three assists
- Played a role in Bologna’s Coppa Italia triumph, defeating AC Milan 1-0 in the final
This significant drop in playing time explains why the youngster is now seeking pastures new, with Mallorca potentially offering the perfect platform for him to showcase his talents in La Liga.
