Mirandés offload Marino as transfer merry-go-round picks up pace

CD Mirandés continue reshaping their squad with Marino Illescas departing by mutual agreement, while more moves are brewing including Ismael Barea's likely exit to Córdoba.

The January transfer window is heating up at Anduva as CD Mirandés look to reshape their squad for the second half of the campaign.

Marino Moves On

Mirandés have officially parted ways with midfielder Marino Illescas after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. The ‘rojillos’ have cut ties with the player who failed to cement a regular place in the starting eleven despite making eleven appearances in LaLiga Hypermotion this season.

Illescas clocked up around 600 minutes of league action, contributing one assist which came in their recent clash against Andorra. He also featured twice in the Copa del Rey before both parties decided to go their separate ways.

While not officially confirmed, all signs point to Ceuta being Illescas’ next destination as he looks to kickstart his career elsewhere.

More Departures Brewing

The exodus at Mirandés doesn’t stop with Marino. Ismael Barea appears to be on the verge of leaving Miranda de Ebro, with Córdoba his likely destination. The structure of the deal is expected to mirror the arrangement that saw Petit head to Granada earlier in the window.

The mechanics would involve parent club Real Betis terminating Barea’s current loan at Mirandés before immediately sending him on a new loan deal to fellow Andalusian outfit Córdoba.

Barea’s contribution at Anduva has been limited to just three league appearances, though he did manage to find the back of the onion bag against Real Valladolid on matchday eight. In total, the Betis loanee has accumulated 769 minutes on the pitch for Mirandés.

Reinforcements on the Horizon

While players head for the exit door, Mirandés aren’t simply trimming the fat. The club remains active in the transfer market as they seek reinforcements to bolster their squad for what promises to be a challenging second half of the season.

The rojillos will need to get their business spot on if they’re to avoid getting caught in a proper dog’s dinner at the wrong end of the table.
