Pepineros part ways as Osei completes Czech switch to Artis Brno
Leganés forward David Osei departs after two-and-a-half seasons with the Madrid club, moving to SK Artis Brno in the Czech second division.
Leganés have confirmed the departure of Ghanaian forward David Osei, who joins Czech Republic second-tier outfit SK Artis Brno in a permanent transfer after two-and-a-half seasons with the Madrid club.
Osei’s Leganés Legacy
The Ghanaian talent leaves the Pepineros having made quite the impression during his time at the club:
- Featured in over 50 matches for Leganés
- Netted 12 goals during his stint with the club
- Was regarded as one of the most promising talents from Jorge Broto’s youth setup
Osei’s departure comes after Diomande’s exit, with the club losing another bright prospect from what’s becoming an increasingly productive academy system at Butarque.
Immediate Czech Move
The transfer to SK Artis Brno has been finalised with immediate effect, with the forward set to join up with his new teammates in the Czech Republic’s second division without delay.
The fee for the transfer remains undisclosed, but it represents another example of Leganés youth products finding opportunities abroad rather than breaking through to regular first-team football with the Madrid outfit.
More Academy Departures Looming?
In what could be a bit of a mare for Lega’s youth setup, another promising talent appears to be heading for the exit door. Munir El Haddadi’s younger brother, known as ‘Sule’, is reportedly close to joining Real Betis.
The 19-year-old’s contract with Leganés expires on June 30th, and it seems the Andalusian club are set to snap up another highly-rated youngster from the Pepineros’ academy.
