Valladolid's Delgado joins Chaves on loan as Real Madrid swoop for Arnu

Real Valladolid making space in their squad with Jorge Delgado heading to Portugal and youngster Arnu moving to Real Madrid Castilla, as new signings await.

Valladolid clearing the decks as two players head for the exit door, with one joining Portuguese second-tier side Chaves and another making a dream move to Real Madrid Castilla.

Delgado’s Portuguese adventure

Real Valladolid have confirmed that Jorge Delgado is off to pastures new, joining Chaves in the Portuguese second division until the end of the season. The deal includes an option to buy for the Portuguese outfit, who currently sit fifth in the table with promotion aspirations matching those of Valladolid.

The Madrid-born striker was the top scorer for Valladolid’s B team last season, bagging an impressive 15 goals and providing three assists in Segunda RFEF. Those numbers earned him a step up to the first team, but he’s struggled for game time this campaign.

Delgado has managed just 350 minutes across LaLiga Hypermotion and Copa del Rey fixtures, starting only twice. He did manage to score against Sporting Gijón, though it wasn’t enough to secure any points. His most significant contribution came against Granada, winning a penalty that completed a comeback victory – the team’s most recent win at José Zorrilla.

Young talent heads to the capital

In a separate move that’ll have the youngster absolutely chuffed to bits, Adrián Arnuncio Baquerín – known simply as Arnu – is Madrid-bound after Valladolid reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the 16-year-old forward.

Born in March 2007, Arnu will join Real Madrid Castilla on loan until the season’s end, with Los Blancos securing an option to purchase. The Castilla side currently sit fifth in their Primera RFEF group and will be hoping the teenager can add some firepower to their promotion push.

New arrivals imminent

These departures appear to be making room for new blood at Valladolid. The club is expected to officially announce the arrivals of Uruguayan winger Lucas Sanseviero and Dutch striker Noah Ohio in the coming days.

With the transfer window heating up and Valladolid looking to strengthen their promotion credentials, these moves represent a significant reshuffling of the deck for the Pucela side.
