According to transfer specialist Matteo Moretto, Barça are on the brink of securing the signature of Juwensley Onstein, an 18-year-old Dutch centre-back currently plying his trade with Jong Genk in Belgium.

The youngster has apparently made it crystal clear that the Blaugrana is his only destination of choice - he’s proper keen on donning those famous colours, which has made negotiations significantly smoother. Barcelona are expected to wrap up this deal imminently, adding another promising talent to their youth ranks with an eye on first-team integration down the line.

Valencia making moves in the market

Meanwhile, Valencia are having a right busy January themselves:

  • Unai Núñez’s arrival is virtually sealed (99.9% done according to Moretto). The defender belongs to Celta Vigo but is currently on loan at Hellas Verona. Only final approval from Italy is needed to complete the switch.

  • Guido Rodríguez has formally requested to leave West Ham for Valencia and is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to return to Spain. The Argentine midfielder’s potential move now hinges solely on an agreement between the clubs.

Atlético Madrid rebuffed by PSG

The Rojiblancos have been given the cold shoulder by PSG regarding Kang-In Lee. The Parisian club has categorically ruled out a winter departure for the South Korean, with Luis Enrique counting on him and the club even looking to extend his contract.

Despite this setback, Moretto insists Atlético “will sign someone, 100%” - with their focus on recruiting a physically strong midfielder with good stamina. Expect a hectic final week of the transfer window at the Metropolitano.

Elsewhere, Osasuna striker Sheraldo Becker has attracted several offers from foreign clubs, while Mallorca are targeting Napoli winger Cyril Ngonge (currently on loan at Torino) to bolster their attacking options.
