Olmo finally showing his class as Barça return to Camp Nou

After 43 days away, Barcelona returned to the Camp Nou with Dani Olmo stealing the show against Oviedo with a goal and assist in a much-improved second half.

Barcelona finally returned to their spiritual home after what felt like donkey’s years away from the Camp Nou, ending a 43-day exile with a clash against Oviedo.

Flick rings the changes

Hansi Flick wasn’t shy about freshening things up, making five changes from the side that faced Sparta Prague last time out. João Cancelo got his wish to grace the newly renovated Camp Nou turf, while young Marc Casadó was also handed a start.

Tale of two halves

The first 45 minutes was proper pants from the Blaugrana, with little to get the returning faithful off their seats. Whatever Flick said at half-time did the trick though, as Barcelona came out with proper intent after the break.

Olmo finding his rhythm

After a somewhat stuttering start to his Barcelona career, Dani Olmo is finally starting to look like the player the Catalans splashed the cash for in the summer. The Spain international was the standout performer against Oviedo, notching both a goal and an assist in a display that suggests he’s hitting top gear at just the right time.

Lamine continues to dazzle

While Olmo took the headlines, teenage sensation Lamine Yamal continued to show why he’s considered one of the brightest prospects in world football. The youngster produced another eye-catching performance, adding to his growing reputation as Barcelona’s diamond in the rough.

Barça’s return to Camp Nou might have started slowly, but by the final whistle, the home supporters had plenty to cheer about as Flick’s men eventually found their stride.
