Lookman lands at Atleti: Nigerian star pens deal until 2030
Ademola Lookman has officially joined Atlético Madrid after completing his medical, signing a lengthy contract that keeps him at the Metropolitano until 2030.
Atlético Madrid have secured the signature of Ademola Lookman, with the Nigerian forward putting pen to paper on a mammoth contract running until 2030.
Medical passed, deal sealed
The 28-year-old has officially joined the Rojiblancos after successfully completing his medical on Monday. The deal had been announced on Sunday afternoon, but as always, was dependent on the player passing those all-important health checks - which Lookman sailed through without any issues.
While he didn’t make it in time for Monday’s evening training session at Cerro, he’s expected to join Simeone’s squad on Tuesday. The gaffer might even throw him straight into the mix for Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash against Real Betis - talk about hitting the ground running!
Impressive goal record
Lookman arrives in Madrid with some serious pedigree after finding his best form at Atalanta. During his three and a half seasons in Italy, the forward established himself as one of Serie A’s most dangerous attackers, notching up:
- 55 goals for Atalanta
- 27 assists to boot
Those are numbers that would have any Atleti fan proper excited about what’s to come at the Metropolitano.

And now Atlético becomes the seventh club of his professional career. It was in Bergamo where Lookman truly found his feet and became the player that convinced Atleti to splash the cash.
