Mirandés secure loan deal for promising Spanish striker Siren Diao from Atalanta

CD Mirandés have bolstered their attacking options with the loan signing of Spanish U19 international Siren Diao from Serie A side Atalanta until the end of the season.

CD Mirandés have completed the loan signing of promising young Spanish forward Siren Diao from Atalanta until the end of the season, marking the striker’s return to Spanish football after his Italian adventure.

Back to Spanish soil

The 19-year-old Figueres-born talent returns to Segunda División where he previously plied his trade with Granada CF. For Mirandés, who’ve been in need of some fresh legs up top, this could be a proper Bobby Dazzler of a signing if the lad hits the ground running.

What Diao brings to the table

Standing out with his imposing physical presence, Diao isn’t your typical Spanish forward. He’s built like a brick outhouse but don’t let that fool you - the youngster combines that strength with:

  • Impressive pace into space
  • Powerful running ability
  • Technical skill belying his robust frame

Experience beyond his years

Despite only being born in 2005 (making some of us feel ancient, I must say), Diao has already accumulated valuable experience across three different Italian clubs during his time with Atalanta.

International pedigree

The striker’s potential hasn’t gone unnoticed at international level either, having already represented Spain’s U19 side on six occasions - no small achievement for a player still developing his game.

Career progression

This move represents an important step in Diao’s development. After testing himself in Italian football, the return to Segunda with Mirandés offers him the chance to continue his professional progression in familiar surroundings, but with a new challenge ahead.

For Mirandés, they’ll be hoping his combination of physicality and technical ability can provide the cutting edge they’ve been searching for as they look to secure their position in Spain’s second tier.
