Mirandés secure loan deal for Spain U-19 striker Siren Diao from Atalanta
Former Granada forward Siren Diao returns to Spanish football with CD Mirandés on loan from Serie A side Atalanta until the end of the season.
CD Mirandés have bolstered their attacking options by bringing Spain U-19 international Siren Diao back to Spanish football on a loan deal from Atalanta.
Back to Segunda
The 19-year-old striker from Figueres returns to Spain’s second tier after a previous stint with Granada CF, as Mirandés have reached an agreement with the Serie A outfit to secure his services until the end of the current campaign.
Diao, born in 2005, brings plenty of promise to Anduva. Despite his tender years, the forward has already accumulated valuable experience in Italian football, having represented three different clubs during his time in the peninsula.
Physical presence up front
What Mirandés are getting is a proper unit up top - a physically imposing striker with impressive power who could give Segunda defenders a right headache. The lad’s got:
- Tremendous physical attributes
- Strong ability to exploit space behind defences
- International pedigree with six caps for Spain’s U-19 side
Development opportunity
For Diao himself, this move represents another chance to continue his professional development in familiar surroundings. After his previous experience with Granada, he’ll be looking to make more of an impact in Spain’s second tier before returning to his parent club.
Mirandés will be hoping the youngster can provide the attacking thrust needed to improve their fortunes in the business end of the season. If the Spain youth international can translate his potential into performances, they might’ve pulled off a right Bobby Dazzler in the transfer market.
