Zaragoza's striking crisis deepens as Bakis joins crowded treatment room

Real Zaragoza face serious attacking shortages with Bakis, Kodro and Dani Gómez all sidelined ahead of crucial Eibar clash in their Segunda División survival battle.

Real Zaragoza’s already struggling attack has been dealt another hammer blow with Sinan Bakis becoming the latest casualty in an increasingly barren forward line.

Striking crisis deepens

The Aragonese club confirmed today that Bakis has suffered a minor muscular injury to his left adductor, with the striker expected to be sidelined for approximately 2-3 weeks. This latest setback couldn’t have come at a worse time for manager Rubén Sellés, who’s watching his attacking options disappear faster than pints on a Friday night.

Bakis joins an increasingly crowded treatment room that already includes:

  • Kenan Kodro - Out for around a month with injury
  • Dani Gómez - Absent from the squad due to muscular discomfort

This striking crisis leaves Sellés with just two forward options for today’s crucial match against Eibar, and neither situation is ideal:

Limited options

Willy Agada is technically available but nowhere near match-ready. The gaffer himself admitted the Nigerian needs time to get up to speed after being inactive for three months. Not exactly what you want to hear when you’re desperate for goals, is it?

The only silver lining in this proper mare of a situation is the return of Mario Soberón, who looks likely to be thrust straight into the starting lineup out of sheer necessity rather than tactical preference.

Mounting problems

The injury problems plaguing Real Zaragoza continue to multiply at an alarming rate. Their goal-scoring woes were already giving Sellés headaches, and now having multiple attacking players in the physio room only compounds their troubles.

With their Segunda División survival hanging in the balance, only a win against Eibar will do if they want to avoid slipping further into relegation trouble. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place – Zaragoza are truly down to the bare bones up top when they need firepower most.
