Endrick's Madrid return already set in stone, confirms agent
Brazilian wonderkid Endrick will head back to Real Madrid after his Lyon loan spell concludes, with his agent Tiago Freitas confirming the plan is firmly in place.
The agent of Brazilian sensation Endrick has confirmed the teenager will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season, putting to bed any speculation about his future beyond his current loan at Lyon.
No Failed Experiment
Tiago Freitas, Endrick’s representative and Roc Nation Sports executive, has come out swinging in defence of his client’s brief Madrid stint before being shipped off to France. Despite limited minutes at the Bernabéu, Freitas insists the 18-year-old’s adaptation wasn’t problematic.
“When you arrive at a club where eight of the ten best players in the world are playing, it’s normal that an 18-year-old lad gets few minutes,” Freitas explained, referencing the star-studded Madrid squad featuring Vinicius, Mbappé, Bellingham and Rodrygo.
The agent highlighted how circumstances worked against the Brazilian:
- Missed pre-season training
- Didn’t participate in the Club World Cup
- Several months on the sidelines through injury
Planned Move, Not Panic Button
Interestingly, Freitas revealed the Lyon loan wasn’t a knee-jerk reaction but rather a calculated decision made in consultation with both Carlo Ancelotti and, somewhat surprisingly, Xabi Alonso. Both gaffers apparently advised the youngster to seek regular playing time elsewhere.
The message is crystal clear - this was about development, not disappointment.
Return Ticket Already Booked
When asked about what happens next, Freitas left absolutely no room for interpretation: “The decision has already been taken: Endrick will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.”
No option to buy, no open negotiations. As the agent put it, “It’s just a loan. At the end of the season, Endrick will be a Real Madrid player again.” Proper job.
French Frustration
Meanwhile, Endrick’s French adventure has hit its first proper bump in the road. After a promising start with seven goal contributions in six matches, the Brazilian saw red against Nantes last weekend.
Lyon boss Paulo Fonseca has jumped to his defence, claiming opposition teams are deliberately targeting the Madrid loanee with excessive physicality. Fonseca has called for referees to “protect more a young and talented player like Endrick” - though Nantes manager Ahmed Kantari was having none of it.
The sending off means Endrick will miss at least Lyon’s next fixture against Nice, with further punishment potentially in the pipeline.
